Large Hall

Where are they?

There are two village halls in Leigh, both grade 2 listed buildings designed by the eminent Victorian architect George Devey, built in 1872.

They are situated together, on the High Street, between the village shop and the Fleur de Lys pub.

What facilities do they have?

The Small Hall:-

  • Used as the village pre school on weekday mornings.
  • It is ideal as a meetings room or for small functions.
  • Its facilities include kitchen and toilet.
  • It can take up to 108 for drama performances and 50 for functions with tables.

The Large Hall:

  • A magnificent banqueting hall of a building with a high vaulted ceiling.
  • It is ideal for sports activities and large functions.
  • Its facilities include kitchen, cloakrooms, toilets and storerooms.
  • It can take up to 224 for drama performances and 100 for functions with tables.

How much do they cost to hire?

The costs of hiring each Hall are as follows:

The Small Hall:

  • Local clubs and societies - £4 per hour (£5 from 1/7/2010) (plus heating costs)
  • Non resident clubs and societies - £8 per hour (£9 from 1/7/2010) (plus heating costs)
  • Children's parties - £20
  • Morning/afternoon sessions - £20 per session
  • Evenings - £50

The Large Hall:

  • Local clubs and societies - £6 per hour (inclusive of heating costs)
  • Non resident clubs and societies - £10 per hour (inclusive of heating costs)
  • Children's parties - £30
  • Morning/afternoon sessions - £30 per session
  • Evenings - £75
  • All day events/wedding receptions - £200.
A £100 returnable deposit will be paid by any one hiring the Halls for a one off event.
