Produce AssociationThe Leigh Village Produce Association holds several talks during the year, as well as an annual outing and the two Leigh shows. The objects of the Association are to encourage the production of garden and home produce in the Village of Leigh; to promote competition by means of Shows; and to provide social contact and co-operation among its members. The two village shows form a major part of the Leigh year, and attract a lot of interest both from exhibitors and visitors. In addition to flowers and vegetables, they include categories for flower arranging, for homecraft and handicraft, and for children. Our main challenge for the future is to keep both the Spring and Summer shows running for the benefit and enjoyment of the village. For them to survive, we need to maintain and preferably increase our membership to help meet the spiralling costs of running these two events. Membership is open to all present and past residents of the lay parish of Leigh (which includes Charcott) and of that part of the parish of Hildenborough which lies between the railway and the lay parish of Leigh. New members are most welcome.
