The Parish Council receives notifications of applications for tree works. Under Section 211 of the Town & Country Planning Act 1990, any person who proposes to cut down, lop or top a tree in a Conservation Area shall serve notice on the District Council and shall not carry out the work until a period of six weeks has elapsed from the date of the service of notice. There is no statutory requirement to publicise this notification, and the Parish Council is not formally consulted. However, we are notified for information purposes, and we are able to report any concerns to the Sevenoaks District Council Arboricultural and Landscape Officer.
